Filomena Rauschert has been a licensed Physical Therapist practicing in outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine setting 13 years. She is a graduate of The Chicago Medical School/ University of Health Sciences (currently Rosalind Franklin University). Her experience ranges from rehabilitating a variety of patient types and diagnosis stemming from athletic to work specific injuries. In addition to orthopedics, previous disciplines of practice include aquatic physical therapy, work conditioning, work hardening, functional capacity assessments, and leading community outreach programs.
Filomena has a strong interest in injury prevention, and has had the opportunity to assist in biomechanical research of collegiate gymnasts utilizing high speed filming. She has worked closely with the women’s gymnastics team at Northern IL University, as well as had experience consulting with local high school athletics. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Physical Therapy, and has completed extensive continuing education coursework involving rehabilitation. Areas of focus have included: Certification in Mat Pilates, McKenzie Spine Rehabilitation ( A-D), Myofascial Release, Mulligan Extremity and Spine Mobilization techniques, Muscle Energy, Building/ Rebuilding the Athlete through Functional Strengthening, Sports Medicine Seminars involving the knee and shoulder, Manual Lymph Drainage, Sports Psychology, and Aquatic Physical Therapy. Special areas of interest and course work also include elbow, wrist, hand injuries/ rehabilitation, and splint fabrication.
Filomena strives to motivate patients to exceed rehabilitation goals through education, as well as promote an overall healthier lifestyle.
