Personal Profile:
Julie studied Exercise Science at Miami of Ohio and earned her degree in Physical Therapy from University of Illinois at Chicago in 1997. She became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist in 1999. More recently, Julie earned her certification as a GolFitness Therapist through GoLo Golf to teach golfers how to train to gain distance off the T and avoid injuries. She has also taken part with Bear players Brian Urlacher and Dwayne Bates (a Bear at the time) in an agility and power training “Fantasy Fitness Camp,” and has taught post natal fitness classes for new mothers and their babies.
Continuing education classes have been extensive and some highlights include Brian Mulligan’s Mobilizations with Movement techniques, Gary Gray’s functional strengthening, Strain / Counterstrain and Muscle Energy manual techniques, Cervical Spine and Headaches, Principles of Pilates, Matthew Walsh’s Running Course, Sports Medicine Symposiums, and numerous orthopaedic courses on techniques for shoulder and knee rehabilitation.
Julie’s Physical Therapy philosophy includes evaluating individuals as a whole. As a result individuals receive a comprehensive treatment approach, and are taught how they can carry this through even after they have met their goals for PT.
